Sterling Debuts Advanced, Lightweight Canyoneering Equipment: Canyonlux rope and Blitz bag.

Sterling Rope Company, lnc.’s new Canyonlux rope and Blitz bag cleverly deliver what advanced canyoneers have been asking for: light, rugged and packable gear that thrives in rough, wet, obstacle-ridden canyon environments. When used together, this rugged bag and rope combination allows canyoneers to be quick and nimble in challenging canyon environments.

Made from four distinct fiber types and coming in at a light and compact 8 mm diameter, the Canyonlux is built to meet the needs of exploration canyoneers. A blended Technora polyester sheath provides a perfect balance of water and abrasion resistance and features a unique and highly visible color pattern. A revolutionary dual core is made from light and flexible Polypropylene surrounded by a layer of massively strong, braided Spectra material. This design keeps the rope small and light, reduces sheath slippage to a bare minimum and provides maximum strength. The new Canyonlux the best handling and most packable canyon rope currently available.

“Field testing this rope in-person on a canyoneering trip has helped me design and build the best handling and most packable canyon rope out there” says Sara Fleetwood, product engineer of the Canyonlux. “It was the key difference between creating another good canyon rope and creating something truly special, which is what the Canyonlux has become.”

Adding to the canyoneering line, the Blitz Bag is designed for the toughest canyoneering expedi tions and made from ultra-durable materials. It is a floatable yet st urdy bag designed to hold up to 250′ of 9.5 mm canyon rope. An inventive stand-up and stay-open feature allows rapid repacking.

The Canyonlux comes in blue or neon green and is offered in 100, 150, 200, 300 and 660-foot lengths. It will be available on January 1s1, 2017.
