Petzl have announced some new gear to be released in 2017.
There is quite a few updates covering climbing harness, climbing belay device (GRIGRI +), head torches and other gear. We have detailed below the main items that would be used in a canyoning environment. Again, no new updates to the Petzl Canyon Harness.
Redesigned OK inline with the other carabiner range already released.
Lightweight aluminum carabiner with a symmetrical oval shape that allows optimal loading of devices with a wide section, such as pulleys, ascenders and progress capture pulleys. Available in three locking systems (SCREW-LOCK, TRIACT-LOCK et BALL-LOCK)
The new Sm’D is designed for both the new Tibloc and Micro Traction with a hole to connect them together with a cord.
Sm’D is a D-shaped locking carabiner that is lightweight, and compact, and can be used in numerous situations; it is easy to manipulate, even when wearing gloves, and is available in two locking system versions.
Light weight slings.
Very lightweight sling with exceptional durability, thanks to its high-modulus polyethylene construction. PUR’ANNEAU is particularly supple, for easy handling. It comes in three sizes, distinguishable by color-coded stitching for easy identification in action.
